Hiring: Backend Engineer/ AI Data Scientist

The Team
Diversely is founded and ran by two forward-thinking entrepreneurs, with a passion and drive to improve diversity across the tech industry specifically, and in the general workforce. The Diversely hiring platform consists of three modules: Sourcing, Selection, Hiring. Each module leverages smart intervention tools, real-time analytics and embedded learning to remove bias from the hiring process and increase the breadth of talent. We will start by building out the sourcing module, with tools including an AI based job description bias-checker, an automated job-ad poster and an applicant profile anonymizer.
We are currently hiring the tech team in HCMC, which at first will consist of two team members, one Fullstack Software Engineer with a more frontend focus and a separate Backend Software Engineer with an AI data science background. We hope you will consider joining us on this exciting and meaningful journey.
The Role
As part of the tech team, you will be working directly with the product owner in Singapore, in Agile sprints using Jira and daily huddle calls. The product owner and designer will provide the updated product backlog and UI/ UX designs and components for you to work with. You will be flexible to work from home or work from our office in Da Kao, D1 HCM, with other Colibri team members, as you prefer. In this role you will be co-leading the development of the platform together with one other team member. You will have ownership of the (decisions re) technology stack, solution architecture, feature development and unit/ integration testing.
Responsibilities
Work with the product owner in Singapore and lead the development of the AI tools and real-time analytics as part of the end to end platform.
Research and select systems and technologies to develop the job description NLP models and recommendation solutions.
Help to design and develop the core databases, data-flows and analytics dashboards as part of the Diversely platform and modules.
Support the backend development and integration of new features, together with our fullstack software engineer
Establish development standards and bring consistency to the many code bases and documentation.
What you’ll need
Are you an experienced Backend Engineer, have you designed and developed AI based products, do you excel at problem-solving and have excellent English communication skills? If so, you may be our new team member.
Must haves
The ability to work directly with the product owner to translate functional requirements and design into technical solution and tasks.
Experience developing AI based products, including NLP (for chatbots or other).
Demonstrate making well-considered decisions around database design and dashboards
Pride in delivering successful product features involving a wide variety of technologies and systems.
Skills for upholding best practices in engineering, security, and services.
Nice to haves
Having worked in a startup environment and/or on an HR tech product
Experience with cutting edge AI systems and NLP tools (i.e. Rasa, spaCy, TensorFlow)
Experience programming with Python and/or R for data processing and analytics
Experience with data analysis and dashboard tools (i.e. Tableu)
You enjoy writing automated unit and integration tests
Some DevOps experience and CI/CD
