POMELO PAY focuses on mobile payment technologies and we turn merchants’ smartphones into a point-of-sale machine using our proprietary app. No more big, expensive POS machines but an app that merchants can download and start accepting payments.

The Role
As the Senior Mobile Developer, we are looking for someone who has a passion to build secure, performant apps on both iOS and Android platforms. You will work with the Lead Mobile Developer in architecting and building these applications.
This is a unique and exciting opportunity for an experienced mobile engineer to help design and build cutting edge, greenfield solutions to some genuinely interesting business problems. The quality of your mobile development experience is far more important to us than the technologies you have used in the past; we recognise that smart people can learn a new language or pick up a new technology relatively quickly.
Responsibilities
Build pixel-perfect, buttery smooth UIs across both mobile platforms.
Leverage native APIs for deep integrations with both platforms.
Diagnose and fix bugs and performance bottlenecks for performance that feels native.
Reach out to the open source community to encourage and help implement mission-critical software fixes—React Native moves fast and often breaks things.
Maintain code and write automated tests to ensure the product is of the highest quality.
Working with product owners and domain experts to understand requirements.
A day in the life of
Start at our coworking space with coffee or breakfast
Daily stand-up (15 min) with the Development Team in the co-working space and with Singapore team
Work on your sprint backlog items (i.e. unit testing of new feature components)
Brainstorm with the product owner and UX/UI designer
Have lunch either at the coworking space canteen/ bar or head out for lunch
Continue working on your sprint backlog items from common breakout area
Reach out to the Scrum Master for English and communication support
What you’ll need
The ideal candidate for this position will have a deep understanding of React Native and be someone who wants to work in an international startup and enjoys the fast pace of a startup. This position is highly collaborative and as such, we are looking for a strong team player with a commitment to deliver high quality code.
Must haves
Experience in React Native and RESTful APIs
Ability to write concise well-documented, clean, SOLID, maintainable code
Familiarity with native build tools such as XCode, Android Studio
Deep experience at working with third-party dependencies and debugging
Experience in writing automated tests
Great English language communication skills, both written and verbal
Nice to haves
Experience in object-oriented programming such as TypeScript
Relevant banking/ payment industry experience (not a must) or interest
